Residence C
Type | House Addition
Completed | 2009
Area | 290 sqm
Residence C consists of alterations to a Victorian bluestone villa and a simple pavilion-style addition to accommodate a family of five - three girls, a man and his dog. Replacing an outdated and uncomfortable lean-to, the addition provides a contemporary, spacious new living area and kitchen flooded with natural light, and beneath, a dark, secluded man-cave.
Acting as an open verandah space, the sloping roof exposes the interior to the picturesque plane tree, lush garden and pool. Floor to ceiling glazing to the extent of its outlook and a continuity of natural materials blurs the distinction between inside and outside.
